My computer has a lot of programs that I don't use and they are taking up memory. What is the safest way to delete these program files?
For starters, if you're not sure what a program does, search the web to get a quick overview before you delete it. Some programs don't allow you to uninstall them. For those that do, on a PC go to the Start menu > select Control Panel > select Add or Remove Programs. You'll be supplied with a list of all the programs you can safely remove from your computer in one click. On a Mac, you can simple drag and drop the program folder into the trash.

"I just bought a new laptop. Is there a trouble-free way to transfer my data from my old computer to my new one?"
If your two- to three-year-old computer is sluggish, instead of getting a new model, you might just need to add more memory. You can do this yourself -- see your computer maker's web site for instructions about where to install additional memory once you purchase it.
